Airbus has more than 1900 employees in Canada and spends just under C$1 billion annually on aerospace related goods and services.

Airbus Helicopters is the sole shareholder of Airbus Helicopters Canada, in Fort Erie, Ontario, which offers customers a wide range of helicopters for military and commercial transport missions.
Together with the Province of Nova Scotia, Airbus is a 50% shareholder of Composites Atlantic in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, a company specialized in the manufacturing of advanced composites for aeronautics, space, defense and commercial products. It has been awarded the prestigious international quality control qualifications ISO 9001 and DI-9000, FAA, DOT, NASA.
There are almost 120 Airbus Commercial Aircraft passenger jets in service with Air Canada and Air Transat.
Airbus Defence and Space provides the Canadian Army’s ERYX Short Range Anti-Armour Weapon missile and was involved in the launch of several Canadian satellites: Anik F1R in 2005, Anik F3 in 2007 and Nimiq 4 in 2008.
Airbus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Research Council of Canada covering aerospace research and development and has opened a research office in Montreal to support this agreement. In addition, in 2008 Airbus Defence and Space (previously Cassidian) acquired PlantCML in Gatineau, the leading supplier of 911 solutions and P25 digital radio communications. It was rebranded Cassidian Communications in early 2011 and (new name) in 2014.
Employing approximately 23,000 people worldwide, Airbus Helicopter’s in service fleet includes 12,000 helicopters operated by more than 3,010 customers in approximately 152 countries.
