ACH125: the sports car of the skies for Quebec customer Lortie Aviation

Lortie Web Story

Introduction

Last year, a private and business aviation customer from the Quebec City area, Mr. André Lortie of Lortie Aviation, had a very special delivery.

For Mr. Lortie, welcoming his new Airbus Corporate Helicopters ACH125 to his fleet was akin to the excitement of purchasing a brand new sports car, especially for someone who had been around aviation his entire life. Over the span of his career for some 34 years, he spent time as a jet fighter pilot, aerobatic airplane pilot, founder of Lortie Aviation and also owner of a helicopter commercial operation company, Wendake Hélicoptère, for the last few years. His passion for aviation and the thrill of fast machines is even evidenced in the paint scheme of his new helicopter, which was based on a scene from the ‘Mission Impossible’ movie franchise.

“The ACH125 is a powerhouse that lets me achieve my missions with the power and performance I need, but what I really love is how taken care of I feel when I fly it,” said Lortie Aviation President André Lortie. “You can get the feel of a flying sports car without giving up any of the key safety features I know are important as someone who’s been in this industry a while. It’s really all that I could’ve hoped for, and more.”

Equipped with high visibility doors and enlarged floor window while complying with the most stringent safety requirements, including certified rupture-resistant fuel tank, dual hydraulics and dual-channel FADEC, the ACH125 is a staple in the private and business aviation market.

And the success of the H125 doesn’t stop there. It’s the leading single-engine turbine helicopter flying in Canada today.

Airbus employees nearly 4,000 people across Canada with a strong presence in Quebec that represents nearly 3,300 employees.
