Eurocopter Sells EC-120 Helicopter To The RCMP

FORT ERIE, Ontario – Eurocopter Canada Limited is pleased to announce that it has completed the sale of an EC-120 helicopter to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canada’s federal law enforcement agency.

Headquartered in Ottawa, the RCMP plans to use the EC-120 helicopter to help with surveillance and related police operations. A light, five seat single engine helicopter, the EC-120 is a multipurpose aircraft designed to provide its users with mission flexibility. Equipped with the most modern technologies such as the Vehicle and Engine Multifunction Display (VEMD), the new generation fenestron, crashworthy seats and fuel system.

“The EC-120 should help the RCMP to improve its operations tempo,” said X. “We are looking forward to bringing this helicopter into service and using it to compliment our law enforcement capabilities.”

Eurocopter Canada is significantly growing its operations throughout the country, including an expansion of its main facility in Fort Erie, Ontario; the opening a new logistics facility in Richmond, British Columbia; and re-establishing its operations in Quebec. Eurocopter Canada forecasts that it will deliver its 500th helicopter in Canada within the next 12 months.

“The EC-120 has a history and track record of use with law enforcement,” said Marie-Agnes Veve, president and chief executive officer of Eurocopter Canada. “The aircraft’s multipurpose design gives police a number of options for its use.”
