Dallas – February 26, 2006 – HAI 2006
HELI-ONE, a fully incorporated branch of CHC Helicopter Corporation, announced proudly, with Eurocopter Canada, its selection of the EC 145 for executive transport services at Heli-Expo in Dallas. The aircraft is due for delivery in July 2006 and will be operated for the company’s Chairman, Mr. Craig Dobbin.
The EC 145 has been selected because of its spacious cabin, flexible seating options and compact footprint. For the mission, it will be equipped with a dual pilot digital MEGHAS glass cockpit. This well-designed helicopter spans the gap between a workhorse and an executive aircraft, as the EC 145 can be quickly transformed from each role with minimal effort.
CHC Helicopter Corporation is the world’s largest provider of helicopter services to the global offshore oil and gas industry, with aircraft operating in more than 30 countries. CHC is currently Eurocopter biggest civilian Super Puma family operator with 30 AS332 Mk 1, 18 Mark 2 flying around the world (Malaysia, Australia, Angola, United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Canada, Brazil,…) and onwards with the EC 225, for which Heli-One placed two firm orders and two options in 2005.
Heli-One is the world’s largest independent helicopter support company. Building on more than 25 years’ experience, Heli-One supports the world’s largest fleet of Super Puma and Super Puma Mk2 aircraft, providing financial, maintenance and logistics support to five operators around the world and a global fleet of 50 Super Puma aircraft in six countries.
The EC 145, selected now by Heli-One for the executive transport role, has firmly established itself in the upper segment of light twin-engined helicopters. Twenty units were sold in 2005, predominantly in the American EMS market. Its spacious, completely unobstructed and easily accessible cabin can be utilized for a broad variety of configurations. The EC 145 is also noteworthy for its highly reduced noise level of 6.7 dB below the ICAO limit.
Eurocopter is very proud to see its latest products, the EC 145 and the EC 225, selected by this prestigious operator. This EC 145 will be the first one delivered into Canada.
